With any turbocharged car, you have to cool down the air after it gets compressed in the turbo and before it reaches the engine. With very few exceptions, the majority of turbocharged vehicles, including the 10th Gen Civic 1.5T and Type R models, use an air-to-air intercooler to get the job done. Intercooler placement is important so it receives a cooler sample of air to transfer the heat to: Both Civic models use a front mounted intercooler, which is ideal. So why would you need to upgrade and what do you gain from it? 4 Great Reasons to Buy an Intercooler For Your 10th Gen Turbo CivicRead More
To say we're happy to have XDI around is an understatement. Before XDI, the Focus ST and many of it's other GDI fueled counterparts were limited to the factory fuel systems. Granted, many GDI systems are capable of fairly large flow increases unlike some other port fuel injected vehicles where you have to replace injectors and/or pumps almost immediately if you start modifying. After enthusiasts began modifying the 2016 and newer 10th Gen Honda Civic models, it was pretty apparent that Honda didn't equip the 6 speed manual transmissions with a clutch that could hold much more than stock power and torque levels, at least in the 1.5T engine. Even for us with our 10th Gen Civic Si project car, we only reached the point of putting on a turboback exhaust, intake, and a custom ECU tune with our KTuner V2 before we were forced to replace the clutch if we wanted to move forward with the build since it was starting to slip. At that time, ACT hadn't released their clutch yet but now that it's available and we're going to try to get you up to speed on what their kits include and some basic info that'll help you decide which ACT kit is right for you and your 10th Gen.Read More
